Stephanie Mehta, a veteran writer at Fortune, has been named global editor of the US business magazine. Mehta, whose father is from India and mother from the Philippines, replaces Robert Friedman, an internal memo at the magazine said. She has a master's degree in journalism and a bachelor's in English from Northwestern University Mehta has earlier worked with the Wall Street Journal. ![]() Nirupama Subramanian, The Hindu’s correspondent in Pakistan, has been awarded the Prem Bhatia Award for the best political reporting for 2008.
